Paper Stocks and Their Uses

Glossy Paper

Glossy paper is used often for photo-rich content. When text is secondary to the visual content, this type of stock is usually used.

Matte Paper

If printed material contains a lot of text that someone needs to view, matte paper is usually better. Matte paper reduces glare to reduce eye-strain while the person is reading the content.

Specialty Paper, Foiling and Embossing

A wide range of specialty paper can also be used for your print requests. Paper stocks such as vellum, vinyl, magnetic and linen are all available as well as a variety of others. We order our paper stocks from Kelly Paper, so if they have it, we can get it. Other special requests such as Foiling and/or Embossing due require copper plates to be made to make the impression into paper stock or to allow application of the foiling to the paper stock. These copper plates are custom made and range in price from the low to mid-upper hundreds ($250-$750). The price and process of making these plates is in addition to any other costs associated with your print request.
